Introduction

The Billi Odegaard Scholarship Fund Board members are committed to protecting your privacy.  We are focused on providing you with a safe, secure website experience. 

1.     Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy lays out the policies and procedures modeled after the Regulations include:

  • Personal data we collect

  • How personal data will be processed

  • With whom personal data will be shared

  • Retention of personal data

  • What safeguards are in place to protect your data

  • The transfer of your data outside of the Fund

  • Your rights related to the use of your data

  • Where to address your concerns

The new US State Privacy Laws in 2023 currently only apply to the following five states including Utah, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and California. They do not apply to this website’s activities because of our non-profit status and we are not actively soliciting donations to the scholarship fund in these states. This document would be updated at the point Oregon enacts state laws covering online privacy. This document will reflect any changes and we will notify you of those changes. 

2.    What is Personal Data

This definition relates to any information you provide us that could be identified through the use of the Fund website.  It includes:

  • Name

  • Email

  • Address

  • Phone number

  • Financial information collected in the course of making a donation to the Fund (credit care/debit card/checking information)

  • Technical information reflecting how you use the website (ex: pages visited and services you access)

3.    Use of Personal Information

The information we collect is used to:

  • Provide you with contact you request (ex: sign up for newsletter or latest news).

  • Operate and improve your website experience (Ex: software upgrades)

  • Deliver services we offer (Ex: software upgrades)

  • Collect donations for the Fund that you request. (Ex: transfer of financial information to donation 3rd party partner)

In the future, we may also:

Send you emails, latest scholarship updates and articles you might find interesting.  We will not share your contact information with other organizations or companies for marketing purposes without your consent.

4.    Retention of Personal Information

We retain all personal information permanently.  We will use your data to let us know what you explore on the site so we can make sure we are sharing information in an efficient and relevant manner.

5.    Sharing Personal Data

We share your personal data to 3rd parties in the following ways:

  • With our website partners to analyze utilization patterns

  • With squarespace.com as our website hosting platform, to ensure security for our network

We make every effort to protect your data but like all other companies and organizations, we cannot guarantee any of the data you transmit to us may not be accessed, altered, disclosed or destroyed by breach of our security plan.  We provide up-to-date industry standard security coverage to assure confidentiality and availability to access of the data of personal information for your purposes. 

6.    Contact Information

We generally share only anonymous data with our website consultant and vendors to provide the best website user support. 

7.    Credit Card/Debit Card/Checking Information

We communicate with credit card processors for the purpose of processing donations.  In addition, we would disclose personal information when legally required to do so, such as with an audit or government entity.  We use…..as our third-party payment vendor.  When you make a donation, your request will be directed to their company.  At that point, the Privacy Policies you would address are theirs.  Their contact information is…..We have no control of their privacy policies.  When you submit your credit card information, it is protected through the use of encryption of web content using TSL.

8.    Your Rights

If you have given us permission to use your data, you may withdraw your consent at any time.  If you have given us permission to process a donation to the Fund, that activity will be completed if it was initiated before your requested withdrawing consent.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Fund if you feel we have not met our commitments regarding your personal data.  You may reach us at contact us.

11. Child Privacy

This website was created to provide scholarship information for older teens and adults.  Therefore, those individuals under the age of 16 should not access this website.  If you are younger than 16 years of age, please contact the Fund Data Protection Officer at contact us.
