Ana Catalina “Cata” Jones
Born and raised in Costa Rica, Cata has worked in the interpretation and language-access field since 2006. She began her career as a medical interpreter and went on to develop Pacific Interpreter's training program for new interpreters, becoming a Certified Medical Interpreter in 2012.
Cata’s expertise expanded into leadership roles at LanguageLine Solutions, where she serves as Product Manager for the Testing and Training department. In this capacity, she oversees assessment development and delivery, evaluator training, and the full product life cycle. She brings extensive experience in evaluating interpreting skills, assessing language proficiency, and guiding teams responsible for assessment delivery, scoring reliability and interpreter training.
She has also delivered interpreter trainings throughout California and contributed to national language assessment validation projects.
Cata holds a licensure in Psychology from Universidad de Iberoamérica (UNIBE) in San José, Costa Rica.
In addition to her professional work, she currently serves as Chair of the Healthcare Interpreter Advisory Council to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA), supporting statewide efforts to strengthen equitable access to care through qualified, culturally responsive language.
